THE devastated parents of a 13-year-old girl, killed when she was run over by a bus, on the 19th of December paid tribute to their daughter.

Niketa Christine Spruce, from Maple Avenue in Runcorn, was hit by the single decker bus at around 3.15pm on Monday on Spur Road, Halton Lodge, Runcorn.

In a statement released through Cheshire Police her parents said: "Niketa was a happy-go-lucky 13 year old girl who attended the Grange Comprehensive school.

"She enjoyed art, dancing, and computers.

She has two dogs which she enjoyed spending time looking after."

Niketa leaves behind her mother, father, two brothers and a sister.

Since you left, sweet child,
my Daughter/Sister/Friend,
this place is where I stand,
precariously balanced
on the edge of the Precipice.
Below I see the Pit -
that living hell
I know so well.
Yet even so,
I know
I must look up,
allow my gaze
to melt into the sky,
boundless, open, free,
teeming with Life -
visible and invisible.
I must allow my ears
to receive the Silence.
Just beyond my hearing
plays the eternal music of the spheres.
I will ground myself on Mother Earth;
feel the wind and rain;
see the animals,
and all living things;
touch the tender shoots
that springtime brings.
I know the beauty of the Earth
is mine for such a little while...
And in my dreams,
my darling girl,
you are my View -
my View of heavenly Light
come streaming through.
Beloved child of mine,
I balance on the edge,
yearning for your smile,
your sparkling eyes,
your laughing voice,
our loving harmony.
Someday soon I know
you'll take my hand,
and then, in joy beyond compare,
I'll fly with you
Far, far from the Precipice,
beyond the Earth,
and into our Forever.
